Brian Porter, a native of Nova Scotia, studied at the Nova Scotia
College of Art and Design from 1966-1970. He has participated
in group exhibitions across Canada and Europe, and in numerous
solo exhibitions in Nova Scotia. Brian was the subject of a National
Film Board of Canada documentary in 1976. In 1981, a documentary of Brian’s
contemporay art work was produced by CBC television. Awards include: 1996-1998
Art Foundation Award New York Study Program; 1971, 1974, 1983
Canada Council.
